Reumatoid arthritis at the sternoclavicular joint
Clinical Findings
- Reumatoid arthritis, spondylitis, reiter's syndrome and psoriasis, all may involve the sternoclavicular joint.
- Other localisations of rheumatoid arthritis should bring the disorder in mind.
- Arthritis of the sternoclavicular joint is usually late in the evolution of ankylosing spondylitis. A progressive ankylosis of the joint leads to serious limitation in mobility of the shoulder girdle.
