Recurrence after initial cure with infiltrations.

The long term efectiveness of local infiltrations with triamcinolone is +/- 70%; or the recurrence rate is +/ 30% .

The history is quite typical:
There was a complete subjective and objective cure after one or two infiltrations.
After a few weeks to a few months the patient presents with the same complaints.
A clinical examination reveals a tennis elbow and palpation points to a type II.

Considering the problem of recurrence rate in type II tennis elbows, two questions should be asked:

What measures should be taken to lower the recurrence rate?
What procedure should be followed in recurrences after infiltrations?
