The treatment leads to good results but the conditon recurs after a few weeks/months.
As a rule, the types I, III and IV do not show a tendency to relapse after intitial cure.
The problem of recurrences after initial cure is mainly a problem which is encountered in type II tenniselbows (tenoperiosteal tendinitis of the extensor carpi radialis brevis).
