The Elbow

HELP: TREATMENT

The I.A. injections give an insufficient result

As a rule, a traumatic arthritis reacts very well on a treatment with
I.A. injections of triamcinolone.

In case there is no immediate result one should suspect an
underlying osseous lesion such as an I.A. fracture of the radial head
or a fracture of the olecranon

Monarticular steroid sensitive arthritis
responds very well to one or two I.A. injections. If there is no
complete cure after two injections, further examination should be
performed in order to exclude a villonodular synovitis
or a tumour
