Cubital Tunnel Syndrome

Diagnosis

1. If a cubital tunnel syndrome is suspected, the following tests can be used to provoke the typical pain and paraesthesia at the ulnar side of the hand and the ulnar fingers:
• Tinel's sign: Percussion of the ulnar gutter.
• Maximal flexion of the elbow with a dorsiflexed wrist during 30 seconds may bring on the pins and needles, which disappear immediately after the elbow has been extended again.
2. Detection of a (sub)luxation of the nerve during palpation of the ulnar gutter during flexion and extension of the elbow.
3. Detection of a neurological deficit typical for an ulnar nerve lesion
