Conservative treatment

A conservative treatment consists of :

Prevention of recurrent subluxation of the nerve by immobilising the elbow in an 'anterior splint' ad 30° of flexion/ This splint should be used especially at night.
Precipitating or aggravating postures and movements which stretch the nerve should be avoided
One infiltration with twenty mg of triamcinolone, about the nerve - not into it !- between the two heads of the flexor carpi ulnaris

The infiltration can be repeated after two weeks.
There may be lasting relief in those cases in which the only symptom is paraesthesia.
