Preliminary Examination - "Aim"

When ?

Aim:

To exclude, by using a quick survey, other sources of pain in the upper quadrant. This can be achieved by testing the following regions:

  • neck
  • shoulder girdle
  • shoulder
  • arm: both as a neurological investigation and to exclude local pathology at the arm.

If this quick survey reveals positive answers, the affected area will be examined thoroughly.
