The Shoulder

Execution

• The arm is brought into 90° of elevation.
• The patient is asked to bring the arm forwards.
• In the meantime the examiner stabilizes elbow and scapula.

Indication: To exclude disorders of the deltoid. For example resisted abduction is positive and there are no localizing signs that could inculpate the supraspinatus tendon as the possible source of pain.
