History and Evolution
Spontaneous onset.
Pain and limitation increase progressively to reach a maximum in about 3 days.
Pain at rest and nocturnal pain.
Pronounced tenderness over the deltoid area.
Spontaneous and progressive improvement after two to three weeks (in exceptional cases six weeks).
After four to six weeks the pain has disappeared totally and the range of movement has normalized.
Usually recurrences are not seen.
