Triceps tendinitis

Clinical Presentation

Extremely rare shoulder lesion.

Characterised by a full range of passive movements and pain on resisted extension of the elbow.
However, this clinical pattern usually points in the direction of a painful arc.

Treatment

If a lesion of the triceps can be diagnosed with certainty (sometimes in weight lifters or body-builders) local treatment follows:

infiltrations (10 mg of triamcinolone) in teno-periosteal lesions.
deep frictions (10 sessions, three times a week) in lesions at the tendon or at the musculotendinous junction.
