The Elbow

Combination with a slight arthritis.

In a very acute tennis elbow, not only the resisted extension of the wrist is extremely painful but there may also be subtle limitation of the elbow extension.

The rest of the examination shows even an equally or larger limitation of the flexion and thus a slight capsular pattern.

This may be the result of a 'reactive arthritis'

The inflammation of the tendon is so intense that also the capsule of the joint takes part in the process.

Treatment of the tenniselbow (by local infiltrations) is usually sufficient to make the arthritis disappear.

!!! Deep transverse frictions and Mill's manipulation are absolutely contra-indicated here.
