Lidocaïne

Indications

As an alternative for procaine
To add with triamcinolone, so making the infiltrations less painful.

Lidocaine is also an alternative when an allergy for procaine is present or suspected.
Because the local anaesthetic effect is stronger its concentration should be diluted to 0,5%.
This is certainly so in diagnostic infiltrations.

Sometimes it is recommended to add a strong and quick acting local
anaesthetic to the triamcinolone.

Whenever the injection is too painful ( acute bursitis).
To dilute the triamcinolone when too large lesions must be infiltrated.
In very sensitive patients.
