Median nerve lesion

Very exceptionally the nerve becomes compressed above the level of the elbow where an inconstant ligament (ligament of Struthers) connects the nerve with the shaft of the humerus.
Increased tension of the ligament may lead to compression neuropathy.

Compression of the nerve at the level of the cubital fossa is called the "pronator teres syndrome"
The median nerve may be subject to external compression at three different localisations here.

Symptoms are usually vague.

Accessory clinical examination consists of:

Provocation of the complaints on local pressure during resisted pronation.
Provocation of the complaints by a prolonged resisted flexion of the middle finger.
Searching for the Tinel sign during percussion of the pronator.
Usually EMG examination is insufficient to set the diagnosis

Treatment is surgical
