Course of the ulnar nerve in the upper arm
The ulnar nerve runs first with the brachial artery and the median nerve in a common neurovascular bundle along the medial side of the upper arm.
At the transition between middle and lower third of the upper arm, the ulnar nerve leaves the medial compartment and transverses the brachial intermuscular septum.
The nerve then courses between this septum and the triceps towards the posterior aspect of the medial epicondyle.
